Not a mockup: this is the panel, on a sample account. You create it, take the password and open phpMyAdmin without leaving the screen or waiting for anyone.

What happens when a machine dies

On Agency each PostgreSQL is three instances on three separate machines, replicating continuously.

Measured on our cluster: about 15 seconds until writes are accepted again.
Your app always connects to the same address; the switch is invisible.

Frequently asked questions

Questions

Can I connect from outside?

Not by default: the database has no public IP and is reachable only from your projects, sites and containers. If you need access from your machine, we open it for your IP.

What happens to my data if I delete it?

A copy is taken before deletion and kept for 30 days. And deleting requires typing the name by hand: it is the only irreversible action in the panel.

Can several projects share one database?

Yes. Plug it into each one with a click; they all get the same address. Rotate the password and it is rewritten everywhere.

What about MongoDB?

We do not offer it, and the reason is the licence: SSPL exists precisely to stop a provider offering it as a service. We would rather say so.

Is Redis for storing data?

It is a cache. In memory and very fast, but do not put there what you cannot lose. Use PostgreSQL or MariaDB for that.
